Abbeville Wins Award for new Terminal at Chris Crusta Memorial Airport.
The City of Abbeville was honored by the Louisiana Municipal Association as winner of the President Award for Economic Development for the new Terminal building at Chris Crusta memorial Airport. The project, which was completed in completed in 2019. The 3,700 square foot facility cost around $900,000. The project was made possible by an FAA Grant and funded mostly by revenue from an oil well at the airport. The new modern terminal is used by local businesses and visitors. It is the City’s hope that these improvements will attract more traffic to the airport.
“We have people coming in from all over the country,” Mayor Piazza said, “If they are doing business in this area, they want to fly into an airport that is going to accommodate their pilot’s needs.”
