Electricity Rate Comparison

Good news for residents of Abbeville. The attached comparison, provided by the Louisiana Energy and Power Authority (LEPA), shows how the City of Abbeville’s residential electricity rates compare to other municipal and private providers for the month of May 2021. Abbeville is just behind SLEMCO, by a little over $2.00 per 1000 KWH, and substantially below CLECO and Entergy. The city is able to protect residents from fluctuations caused by natural gas prices because we have negotiated a fixed rate with our electrical provider.
