On March 13th, the City of Abbeville proudly celebrated 175 years since its incorporation! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us in Magdalen Square and to those who tuned in on the city’s YouTube channel as we unearthed the time capsule buried 30 years ago in honor of this historic milestone.

We are currently cataloging all the items from the time capsule, and soon they will be on display at the Abbeville Culture Center for the community to explore.
Both today’s time capsule and the new one created this year will be sealed together and reopened at our bicentennial celebration in 2050! While the final burial location is still being determined, we are excited to leave behind another piece of history for future generations.
