The City of Abbeville is proud to announce that applications are now open for the 2026–2027 Mayor’s Youth Council!
This program is open to students entering grades 8–12 who live in or attend school Vermilion Parish. Whether you’re passionate about your community, interested in local government, or just want to make a positive impact, this is your chance to get involved!
Last year, we launched our very first youth council and it was a huge success. Members had the opportunity to meet with city leaders, volunteer at community events, and gain real-world experience in civic engagement. We’re thrilled to continue the program and invite a new group of motivated students to join us for an even bigger second year.
