The Abbeville Main Street Program is excited to share that our partnership with the Louisiana Main Street Program has opened new opportunities for our community. The Louisiana Main Street Program has been awarded $749,000 for the rehabilitation and revitalization of commercial buildings around the state. Grant awards of $55,000 each will be given to owners or tenants of historic buildings located within officially designated Louisiana Main Street districts. That means Abbeville!
To qualify, buildings must be in a Main Street district in communities with populations under 50,000 and must be listed on or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. All projects must meet The Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. The submission deadline is August 31, 2024.
