In todayโs world, engaging and empowering our youth is more important than ever. The Mayorโs Youth Council will provide a vital platform for young leaders in our community to voice their opinions, share their unique perspectives, and actively contribute to shaping the future.
We invite students in grades 8-12 (from local schools, are homeschooled, or enrolled in an accredited high school program) and live within Vermilion Parish to apply. As members, youโll take on leadership roles, participate in monthly meetings, and deliver important insights and reports to the Abbeville City Council. Youโll serve as advocates, ensuring that the voices of our youth are heard at the highest levels of local government.
The Mayorโs Youth Council isnโt just an investment in our youthโitโs an investment in the future. Together, we will cultivate civic engagement, nurture future leaders, and build a vibrant, inclusive, and dynamic community where every voice matters.
