Ribbon Cutting Celebrates 37 Years of Community at Parker Hebert Park

Parker Hebert Park, celebrating both a series of recent park improvements and 37 years of community impact.

Originally opened on May 18, 1988, Parker Hebert Park was named in honor of former Councilman Parker Hebert — a dedicated public servant who committed his life to the betterment of Abbeville and the youth of Vermilion Parish. As co-founder of Little League Baseball and Vermilion Biddy Basketball, and a key figure in the development of A.A. Comeaux Park, Mr. Hebert left a lasting mark on recreation in our city. He served 12 years on the Abbeville City Council, including four years as mayor pro-temp.
Now, 37 years later, the park continues to thrive as a place for families to gather, play, and create lasting memories.
